Devil of a Swim

Bicheno's iconic ocean swimming event, the Devil of a Swim, takes place in April with a 5km swim around the stunning Diamond Island. Shorter events (400m, 1km, 2km) are also offered.

Originally established in 2009 as a fundraiser supporting research into devil facial tumour disease, this event has grown into a major annual fundraiser for the Bicheno SLSC. 2027 will be the swim's 18th year.


Swimmers can compete in:

  • Wetsuit category

  • Fins category

  • Skins category (bathers only)

This means that there is an option for every level of experience and confidence.
